Refillable Dispensers versus Miniatures
Cost, guest perception and sustainability — a measured comparison for procurement teams.

For decades, miniature bottles were the symbol of hotel hospitality. Today, many properties are moving to refillable dispensers, driven by regulations, guest expectations around plastic waste and the desire for a more elegant bathroom. Both formats still have their place, and the right choice depends on the property.
Refillable dispensers dramatically reduce single-use plastic and cost per use. Modern designs are lockable, tamper-resistant and beautiful enough to sit in a presidential suite. They also allow larger, higher-quality formulations, since the product is purchased in bulk and decanted on schedule.
Miniatures remain useful for travel kits, airline lounges and guests who like to take something home. If you choose them, select recyclable or biodegradable materials and smaller sizes to limit waste. Many of our partners now combine both: dispensers in the bathroom, and a small curated travel set offered on request.
