Scent as Signature

Why a single botanical note can become the memory of a stay.

Scent is the most direct route to memory. A guest may forget the colour of the curtains, but a fragrance encountered in a lobby or bathroom can bring a stay rushing back years later. That is why more hotels are developing a single signature scent across their entire property.

A signature scent begins with the story of the place. A coastal resort might lean toward sea salt, white tea and driftwood, while an urban hotel may favour bergamot, cedar and leather. Our perfumers build a pyramid of top, heart and base notes, then adapt it for shower gels, lotions, room sprays and diffusers.

Consistency is what turns a fragrance into a signature. When the same scent welcomes guests at check-in, follows them into the spa and greets them in the shower, the experience feels deliberate and complete. Some properties even offer the fragrance for sale, extending the relationship long after checkout.
